If you’ve listened to Episode 121 already, you may remember that I mentioned a video with Abe and myself filmed at a beer festival here in Nashville last December. There was a guy going around with a camera who took a shine to my science ramblings and asked if I’d be willing to hash out my theories of cute dinosaurs on air. I, of course, was happy to oblige. My bit starts around 17:44 and goes until 20:09 (Abe is replaced by Kevin at some point) and for the careful watcher I do have a brief cameo earlier in the clip.

When the days get so short it seems as if the sun will never return to warm our cheeks, we give each other gifts as comfort in the darkness. Then somehow the days begin to lengthen. Coincidence? Of course not. Some credit a magic baby, others a Roman deity, science simply calls it the solstice. Comic ‘The Big Lie’ Delivers Just That

When I first heard there was a comic coming out about the “truth” behind the World Trade Center attacks on September 11th, 2001, I was upset. I thought How could Image Comics publish such nonsense? Such disinformation? But the more I thought about it the more I was reminded that my philosophy on such matters is that free speech means people can espouse nonsense, and the answer to that shouldn’t be censorship, but more speech. So I decided to read the book, give it a fair shake, and see where we wound up.

Keeping Track of All That Beer – Untappd and Podcasting

Randy H. asked a question in this week’s show that has spurred me to action! Namely, how can he keep track of all the cool brews I (and the other Paleopals) bring to the table each and every week? His question specifically asked about Episode 23 – SHARK WEEK! which by some neural anomaly I actually remember. I had a Gordon Ale by Oskar Blues, which I also brought for our guest. Bad news, Randy, they’ve stopped making it. Or at least are making it by different name now.

However, this is but one small example, and I simply don’t have the time nor inclination to listen back through entire catalog of episodes to remember what drink I had when. So I don’t have a perfect solution for Randy, but I have a solution which will have to suffice. That solution is called Untappd.
